We are pleased to announce a new PennTESOL East initiative: the IELP Practice, Program, and Policy Exchange.
These will be quarterly sharing sessions, intended to be a venue for instructors, administrators, staff, and directors at Intensive English Language Programs (IELPs) to share our challenges, successes, questions, insights, and innovations with their peers. We expect that each meeting will be around 90 minutes long, and we'll focus on a particularly pressing topic in our field. Here is a preliminary list of dates and topics.

Each event will be hybrid (we will meet in person but also set up a Zoom link). We will schedule the first few sessions on Friday afternoons, but welcome feedback on the best times for these sessions in the future. To address space and campus security needs, we ask that all participants RSVP, and we may need to place a cap on in-person attendance.
These will be semi-structured conversations, but a starting list of questions for us to discuss might include:
What’s working for you regarding [topic]?
What isn’t working for you regarding [topic]?
What developments/innovations are you seeing or working on regarding [topic]?
What questions do you have for colleagues regarding [topic]?
What resources do you find valuable regarding [topic]?
If you would like to host an upcoming session, please reach out to us at board@penntesoleast.org!
